Autism Early Intervention in Dubai

What early intervention means here

Early intervention means starting support in the toddler and preschool years, when communication, play, and daily routines are still being built. You do not need to wait for a completed autism assessment before you ask for a therapy assessment.

At The Speech Clinic that support is chosen from the services the child actually needs. For many young autistic children that is speech and language therapy, sometimes with AAC. Others also need occupational therapy, ABA, or feeding therapy. The clinic sees children through 16 years, so early intervention is the starting point, not an age limit.

Signs families often bring

  • •Few words, or loss of words the child used to say
  • •Limited gestures, such as pointing to show something
  • •Language made of echoed lines or scripts
  • •Play that is hard to join, or distress in busy or noisy places
  • •Feeding limited to a few textures or brands

Which service leads

Communication concerns start with speech therapy for autism. If the child learns language in chunks, gestalt language processing may shape how sessions are run. If speech is not a reliable way to communicate yet, AAC is considered early, not as a last resort.

Daily living, sensory load, and play skills may need occupational therapy for autism. Learning, behaviour, and routines may need ABA therapy. Feeding restriction is assessed in feeding therapy. One child can have more than one of these, with a shared set of goals.

What the first step is

Book an assessment in the area that worries you most. The therapist will say if another discipline should join. School-readiness support can come later, when the child is preparing for a classroom. It is not the first service for a toddler who is not yet communicating.

Therapy does not claim to remove autism. The aim is communication, participation at home, and skills the family can use between sessions.

Questions about autism early intervention

No. A therapy assessment can begin from the concerns you can describe. A medical diagnosis is useful when you have it, and it is not a requirement for a first visit.

No. ABA is one option when learning and behaviour goals need that structure. Some children are seen in speech therapy, occupational therapy, or both, without ABA.

Families usually use this for toddlers and preschool children. The clinic can still start therapy for older children. Earlier support is useful. It is not the only window.

Group places depend on language level and goals. The Language Booster Club is the published group for language with peers. Ask the team which current group, if any, matches your child. The website does not list a separate A-Team Autism Club.
